Version 1.5 is richer and more useful than ever.
Hide/Show
Whole branches or parts of branches can now be hidden and revealed using the hide/show icon at the bottom right of each box.
Sideways Layouts
You can now layout Rationale maps horizontally in grouping and reasoning modes rather than just top-down.
Hyperlinks
You can now insert hyperlinks into boxes. Hyperlinks can be dragged straight out of the Rationale Explorer pane and into a box. Click a hyperlink to open the linked web page. The link and description are both editable.
New Building Panel Layout
Rationale's new building panel layout provides a simpler way of organising your building tools. Select which tab is required for your task, whether it is "explore "to gather information, "build" to begin constructing your map or "templates" to add useful essay templates or icons.
Performance Speed Ups
Rationale loading times have been dramatically reduced so that now it should only take a few seconds to get up and running with the Rationale workspace. There have also been other improvements to the responsiveness and general performance of Rationale.
Map Overview
A choice of On, Off, or Auto added to the has been added to the Rationale View Ribbon.
Drag-Drop Improvements
There have been a number of improvements to the drag and drop behavior of Rationale including:
- Easier to see purple-coloured insertion point
- Drag above any box (and push that box down)
- Basis boxes can be dropped between levels (added to the end)
- Copy-drag (Ctrl-click) of boxes under their own descendants is now allowed
- Dragging and dropping a branch onto one of its descendants is now allowed (it detaches)
Basis Box Appearance
Basis boxes no longer have a line underneath them and the basis box images are smaller.
